Blog 371: Green-Winged and Black-Crowned

Festive Jan
Jan and others working the Visitor Center put on arts-and-crafts hats to decorate not only the Center but the Chesser Homestead. Here are diverse tree ornaments that Jan produced.

Spanish Moss
Spanish moss adds a touch of southeastern elegance to many of the trees in this part of Georgia. Here are a couple examples that caught my eye. To add a little balance, I’ve also added an attractive Eastern phoebe and a more dramatic copy that I painted.

St. Marks
Appointments in Tallahassee provided us with a perfect excuse to spend a half-day at the St. Marks Refuge with friends. A little chilly and not ideal lighting, but a fun event, nonetheless. Here is a green-winged teal, a black-crowned night heron, a dunlin, a greater yellowlegs, and a white ibis in motion.

Oh, and I added a painted frog just for fun.
