Blog 400: Eagles in Flight

Barr Lake State Park is known for its bald eagles, and we are often lucky enough to see one or two or three or more bald eagles soaring over our coach, sometimes with red-tailed or Swainson’s hawks adding to the flight paths. Here is a mature and an immature eagle from a recent sighting.

Speaking of flying, we also often see white pelicans flying about, often in formation.

We continue to see black-chinned hummingbirds and Bullock’s orioles, as they are regular customers at our feeders.

Finally, here are some other good-looking birds to complete this blog: A Western kingbird, a Say’s phoebe, a common crackle, and a house wren with an attitude.
