Travel Blog 361: The Journey Continues

We spent a few more days relaxing at Joyful Journey before moving on. Here is another sunrise.

Another Joyful Sunrise

Lots of bird activity at Joyful. Here is a mountain bluebird, a house sparrow, and a baby house sparrow.

We have been looking at settling down in the Dolores area and building a new home. Maybe a poor time, as:
  1. Lots of people are doing the same thing.
  2. Prices are on the rise.
  3. Builders are stretched.
  4. There are lots of shortages.

Hence, we have found a unique way to speed the process and lower the costs. We have an offer in to buy this foundation and then build on top of it. Yes, a few of the rooms might be a little small, but what savings! The only challenge will be getting approval from the Bureau of Land Management, and the Department of the Interior, and the state of Colorado, and the Ute Tribe, maybe another half dozen outfits.

New Home Foundation

Just kidding! The “foundation” above is the Escalante Pueblo, part of the Canyon of the Ancients National Monument. I just hope our builder has the same quality of build as the Anasazi.

See you next time.
